This week, Cádiz becomes the meeting point between U.S. youth soccer and the Spanish professional model. Nomadar Corp., in collaboration with Cádiz CF, has welcomed a 69-person delegation from the United States, including 58 young soccer players born in 2012, 2013 and 2014, selected directly by WIMS Select to take part in a high-level training experience at the heart of Spanish professional soccer.
The delegation traveled from New York to Cádiz, where the program is taking place before the group returns to the United States. Traveling alongside the players are eight coaches, two marketing representatives and one communications representative, coming from states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Minnesota, underscoring the nationwide reach of this selection and the rigor of the selection process.
The program takes place mainly at the Ciudad Deportiva Bahía de Cádiz, where the young players take part in sessions led by professional coaches, tactical analysis, physical preparation and competitive matches. At the heart of this experience is Nomadar’s HPT (High Performance Training) methodology, a training system rooted in the standards of Spanish professional soccer, designed to strengthen these young talents’ understanding of the game and equip them with tools they can apply once back in the United States. The agenda also includes a visit to the Cádiz CF stadium, a beach soccer session and a closing ceremony that will bring the program to a close.
WIMS, short for Wolf Innovation Management Sports, is the global sports management agency founded by Ethan Kim and Nicholas Patzl that, through its WIMS Select program, connects the U.S. youth soccer ecosystem with professional development environments in Europe. In fact, 11 players who took part in WIMS tryouts, camps or high-performance programs in New York have already been invited to a U.S. youth national team identification camp, a sign of the level of talent within the organization’s network.
“We want these players to experience the development methodology and soccer culture that shaped my own understanding of the game after I moved to Spain at age 16,” says Ethan Kim, CEO and co-founder of WIMS. “This is an opportunity for talented young players to learn, compete and grow in a demanding environment, regardless of where their individual soccer journey ultimately takes them.”
This trip marks the second edition of WIMS Select’s international initiative in Spain and reinforces Nomadar’s role as an international platform for sports education and development, building bridges between the growing U.S. youth soccer ecosystem and Cádiz CF’s century-long legacy. It is a continued commitment to bringing U.S. talent closer to the standards, methodology and culture of Spanish professional soccer.
