The Cádiz CF youth academy has a new reason to celebrate. Mario Lobato Muñoz, a left back on the Cádiz CF U16 A team, has been called up to the Spain U15 National Team to play in the UEFA Development Tournament in Austria, from October 28 to November 2. Mario is among the 23 players selected by Hernán Pérez for this tournament. For Nomadar and Cádiz CF, this news reflects the work done every day with the players in the youth academy.

This work is supported by the methodology of the HPT (High Performance Training) program, which Nomadar and Cádiz CF apply in the youth academy. The fact that a player trained in this environment has reached a call-up to the Spanish National Team confirms the level of the daily work and the path that Nomadar and Cádiz CF want to keep building together with young players.

Mario was born on June 3, 2012, and is 14 years old. He joined the Cádiz CF youth academy in the 2022/23 season, so this is his fifth season with the club. He currently plays for the U16 A team in the Andalusian Honor Division, where he competes against older players.

His progress has been steady. Last season, while still on the U14 team, he made his debut with the U16 B team and even played with the U16 A team. In March 2026, he received his first call-up to the Spain U14 National Team, and in May he was called up again for an international tournament in Alicante. Now he moves up to the U15 team.

Spain will start the tournament on October 28 against Greece at 2:00 p.m. (mainland Spain time). On October 30, they will face Iceland, also at 2:00 p.m., and they will finish the tournament on November 2 against Austria at 1:00 p.m. All three games will be played at the ÖFB Campus in Austria.

Being part of this call-up is another recognition of his progress and of the youth development work being done in the Cádiz CF academy.
